My name is Emi. I got married to my husband, Trevor, on July 18th, 2009. This blog is loosely about what happened afterwards.
However, let’s talk a little about what happened BEFORE. I moved to Portland, OR with my brother and his girlfriend in August of 2007. Trevor and I met a few months later (through Craigslist) and we became “official” in December (on my birthday, even!) I moved into his studio apartment, like, a second later (actually, it was probably around Feb- March of 2008), and proposed about a minute after that (in April). Luckily, he said yes.
I set to planning our wedding with lots and lots of help, and in July of 2009 we were married in his aunt’s backyard surrounded by about 70 friends and loved ones.
People ask if anything changes after you get married and I’d have to say, on the whole, no. We both still pretty much have the same interests and do the same things we always did. Our relationship has evolved a lot over time, but it was doing that before we were married, too. This December we’ll be coming up on 2 years together and I’m so grateful he’s still here. haha.
